Lindsay Graham - Director, Education Consultant & Trainer
I have over 10 years experience in alternative forms of education. I believe passionately in learning and the power of individuals to fulfill their potential. I have supported and developed individuals of all ages and backgrounds and will take on any individual, or group, I believe I can help. I specialise in education provision for those with complex learning disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Global Delay, Executive Function disorder, and behavioural difficulties.
I believe in bringing education to people, rather than people to education. I have developed long-term learning plans, over several years, for people with complex needs and challenging behaviour, where I focused on developing other ways of communicating that didn't rely on verbal communication and promoted ways to use the environment in order to reduce anxiety. But I have also worked with someone with dyslexia, when the learning focused on specific issues of reading and working to overcome particular obstacles to memorising. It is through personalised education, focused on ways the learner likes to engage, that everyone - regardless of their situation - can learn.
My professional experience:
14 years experience working in learning disability, in educational provision and employment support
Diploma in Adult Literacies (2003) and Cambridge CELTA in ELT teaching (1998)
MA in Educational Management at University of Leeds (2001)
Director of TEENS+ for 8 years, a personalised education programme for young adults
